[SHOCKHORROR I AM SUBMITTING ART. I KNOW. it's not brilliant by any stretch of the imagination, but I loves mah Jateykins 
♥ as most of my friends know, I am a total Marvel geek, especially over X-Men; and it was only a matter of time before OCs arrived xD so here is Jate. he's a lot like a previous OC of mine, Nick, but they have been merged into one squishy scenekid pachage. enjoy xD ]
Jate is the most hyper, over-excitable puppy of a mutant you could ever hope to meet. He lives his life in a permanent state of Kermit!flailing glee~ ♥ and pisses Wolverine off to an unbelievable degree.
Although Jate’s control over his powers is a little shaky, he trains with Dazzler a lot of the time. He also trains with Kurt (Nightcrawler) to work on his athleticism. Jate adores Kurt, and has taken to glomping him whenever he bamfs into a room. Kurt doesn’t mind all that much xP
It’s hard to not get along with Jate - he has a kind of giddy happiness that is horribly infectious; but it does get a little wearing. Jate’s biggest weakness is probably his love of being in love - he adores the sensation of loving someone else; and he is completely devoted to whoever he’s fallen for. Upon joining the X-Men, he fell hard for Fanatic - John Luther. Jate’s teammate, roommate and (affectionately exasperated) best friend. Unfortunately, John is a devout Christian, whose powers are directly tied into his belief in God. If he loses his faith, he can’t use his powers. Hugs for Jate now please?

Powers: Jate can create small bursts of bright blue electrical kinetic energy that manifest in the shape of stars. His powers are somewhat similar to Dazzler’s or Jubilee’s, but less powerful - his powers aren’t concussive or forceful, but they can cause serious damage. Jate can isolate his control over these stars to a precise point of energy and convert this into heat energy - for example, he has been known to abuse his powers to toast marshmellows
Physical Characteristics: Jate is fairly petite, but he’s not weak. He spends a fair amount of his time training with Dazzler and Kurt. He has snakebites, and a distinctive tattoo of three stars on his left cheek that glow bright blue when he uses his powers~

Strengths: Jate has an oddly strong psyche; he’s practically impervious to telepathy. He gets along with practically anyone, and has literally no bias or prejudices.
Weaknesses: He doesn’t have much control over his powers, and he’s more than a little naïve at times - he wants to see the best in people; and he falls in love far too easily. He can be really dumb at times and refuses to see the truth if he doesn’t want to believe it.
