Literature Text

locked in monochrome smiles, that night was heavy with the dawn,
and I no longer have to hide the laughter perched like doves in my throat.

in cracked voices, we whisper timeless words, and press them tight against each other’s lips.
you let me steal away collarbone kisses and hide small inside your ribcage
and contrast skies hang low overhead.

the lights are distant, shrouded in the hazy heat that spills from open windows and open wounds.
you are rust-blood-red, and I see you smile with scissored lips.
[makedamnsure, sweetie. I always was.]

I told you that here is where the clichés began, but somehow you defy and define them all
your voice is thrown low, and you sing the melody that makes my mind fall away.
because I always wanted someone halfway between Rick Blaine and the Joker.

so perfect.
